Shipping your bouquet may feel overwhelming, but I promise it’s easier than it looks! With just a few simple steps, you can safely send your flowers for preservation, and I’ll take care of the rest.
How to Package and Ship Flowers for Preservation Keepsakes:
What to Do Right After Your Event.
If you won’t be personally shipping the bouquet, assign a trusted person — such as a family member, close friend, or wedding planner — to handle this for you. Be sure they have this guide, and send your flowers within 4 days of your event for best results.
1. Trim the stems at a slight angle. If the bouquet is tied tightly, make a few small vertical cuts so the stems can drink water.
2. Keep your bouquet in a vase with water, out of direct sunlight.
3. Do not place flowers in the fridge or freezer — this can cause mold during shipping.
4. Handle flowers by the stems whenever possible to prevent bruising.
How to Package Your Fresh Flowers for Shipping.
Soak several paper towels in cool water and wrap them around the stems.
Cover the wet towels with a plastic bag (only around the stems — not the petals).
Secure with rubber bands or florist tape.
Gently wrap the entire bouquet in brown packing paper or dry paper towels. Avoid packing peanuts.
Line the bottom of your box with packing paper and create a snug space for the bouquet.
Add a rolled or folded ring of paper around the bouquet for extra support.
Optional (but recommended in summer): Add disposable ice packs sealed in a zip-top bag.
Add more packing paper on top to prevent shifting.
Include inside the box:
Your full name
Order number
Contact information
A printed photo of your bouquet (or email it to resinandrootcreations@gmail.com with your name + order number)
Shipping Your Bouquet to Resin & Root.
Ship via UPS Overnight with Tracking (no signature required).
If your event is on a weekend, shipping on Monday is perfectly fine—just keep the bouquet in water until packaging.
Email your tracking number, expected delivery date, and estimated arrival time to resinandrootcreations@gmail.com so I can be ready to receive it.
Important Notes & Disclaimer.
Resin & Root will return only your finished keepsake. Extra flowers or plastic/glass containers used in shipping will not be sent back.
How to Package and Ship Hair for Memorial or Keepsake Orders:
Hair can be placed in the same box as bouquets, just ensure it is packaged separately and clearly labeled.
Make sure the hair is clean, brushed free of tangles, and completely dry before packaging to prevent mold or damage during transit.
Tie the hair together gently with a small elastic band or ribbon to keep it neat.
Place the secured hair in a small zip-lock bag or envelope for protection.
Wrap the bag or envelope in tissue paper or bubble wrap and place it inside a sturdy box or padded mailer. (Hair can be packaged in the same box as flowers as long as it is kept separate and labeled.)
Include a note inside the package with your full name, order number, contact information (phone and email), and a brief description of the keepsake ordered.
Ship your package using a service with tracking and optional insurance for peace of mind. Overnight shipping is not required for hair, but faster shipping is recommended.
