How Resin & Root Turns Your Flowers Into Keepsakes
At Resin & Root, we specialize in transforming fresh bouquets into handcrafted resin heirlooms you can treasure forever. Whether you’re preserving wedding flowers, memorial blooms, or a special keepsake arrangement, here’s exactly how our preservation process works from start to finish.
Step 1: Dropping Off Or Shipping Your Blooms
Local Drop-Off (Thibodaux, LA and Surrounding Areas): If you’re nearby, you may schedule an in-person drop-off. We’ll send detailed instructions as your event date approaches.
Shipping Your Blooms: Flowers must be shipped within 24–48 hours of your event via overnight delivery. We will provide detailed packaging and shipping instructions to help protect your blooms in transit. (See our flower shipping guide here.)
Step 2: Drying & Preparing Your Flowers for Preservation
Professional Silica Gel Drying (1-2 Weeks):
We dry your flowers using high-grade silica gel to maintain shape and color. Please note that some flowers may shift slightly in tone—red roses may deepen to burgundy, and white blooms can naturally soften to a creamy hue.
Hand-Cleaning & Preparation:
Once dried, each flower is carefully dusted and prepped for casting.
Step 3: Bloom Layout & Design Approval
Creating Your Arrangement: We design a custom layout to showcase your blooms beautifully. Layout previews are provided for larger keepsakes such as resin blocks or display pieces, but not for small items like ring holders or ornaments.
Layout Approval Process: You’ll receive a photo preview for approval. Minor adjustments may be made if needed, but please note that dried blooms are delicate and cannot be rearranged repeatedly.
Step 4: Casting Your Flowers in Resin
Layered Resin Pouring: After approval, your flowers are carefully cast in multiple resin layers over several days to ensure clarity and strength.
Demolding, Sanding & Final Finish: Once cured, your piece is removed from the mold, sanded smooth, and sealed with a protective finish for long-term durability.
Step 5: Pickup or Shipping of Your Finished Keepsake
When your keepsake is fully cured, we’ll either ship it securely with a tracking number or arrange a convenient pickup time if you’re local to Thibodaux, LA.
